Nine 2 Five review

Nine 2 Five
is another new eating establishment located in Pelita Commercial Centre. It opened it's doors early this month and i had been eager to check it out. I had been there several times and usually it's full with patrons. Yesterday was our Country's Independance Day and surprisingly not much customers were around. I guess most of them had went back to Kuching for the parade.

Nine 2 Five
is an air-conditioned restaurant-cafe . It's a good thing that cafe's with such modern designs are starting to pop up like mushrooms in Miri. Kinda gives you a refreshing view towards Miri's dining industry. I have always thought of opening one.... but we'll see.

So, there's an option for patrons to eat outside and usually, with the price you pay , one should be smart enough to dine in an air-conditioned room. I went inside ( so it literally meant i am smart ).

Flowers adorned the exterior of Nine 2 Five. There weren't any roses aroun which i think they should have just in case couples come in and the guys would pluck a few for their partners. Just an idea.

This is the interior of Nine 2 Five. Looks comfy to me, it didn't really amazes me much as this is what i had expected of enclosed cafes. The subdued lighting soothes the minds of all after a hectic week, it's nice in my point of view.

There's even a unique sofa-benched mounted against the wall at the further end of it's eating premises. I noticed my friend Bryan Sim and his mum who waited prolly 30 minutes for their meal. It's good to see mum and son dining out once a while.

The walls are adorned with thousands of innocent jovial looking pictures of refugees kids smiling, happily hugging one another, kissing...nuzzling and all those lovey-dovey bullcraps which had long left our world...., I did also noticed one picture of Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson doing their thang just a few inches by the right. I wasn't sure if it was me or just the dim lights.

Diner style seating arrangements are also available at one side of the place. It's comfortable and clienteles would prefer this sort of seating arrangement while discussing business and so forth.

The counter is located at the very end of the cafe. Every transaction is done in cash term. It leads to the washroom at the back. ( not that we don't know )

Ben
reckon its a 36" flat screen tv. I found this item the most impressive of all others at Nine 2 Five.

The decors are nice. Everything from the blinds, wooden mounted panels on the ceiling and downlights exudes a warmth relaxing ambience and we were the few who had the opportunity to bask in the ambience.

Check out the art paintings. It shows a rather classy-Italian look and did you noticed all the characters drawn have moustaches. Heh.

The standalone menu was heavily promoting it's latest Nine 2 Five beef rendang rice. I wasn't thinking of ordering that til the owner came over and decidedly con us into trying it out as clearly it was the fastest dish to be out from the kitchen. He continued his plight about having only one ( 1 ) chef manning the dishes. Hey bro, that's your prob, not mine.

The self-proclaimed fast lane dish from the menu , i dare say, comes out 20 minutes slower than the ones in ordinary cafes. I had to conclude that the main course would probably reached around 1 hr? So, this is the beef rendang rice which retails for RM5.50 per plate with a complimentary soup.

The beef rendang looks appetizing enough. If i had to be extremely honest, the beef rendang is not one of the best i had. It's just alright for me. There's a technique to slice the beef and i guess the chef didn't exercise his skills that day.

Mixing in with the chilli's is a must for all spicy food addicts. Nine 2 Five would score more in the satisfactory level if they were more generous with their food. 5 pieces of beef is just sort of an appetizer to some ya know.

Patrick
got himself another plate of peanut & honey coated bread which cost RM3.00 .

I have to say Nine 2 Five is a nice and cozy place for patrons to dine in and utensils are easily accessible when required. I am thinking of trying out other more delicious platters if time allows me.
