My birthday dinner at Taman Selera , Stall 7

I invited my friends along for my birthday dinner and they had these. I know a few.... missed out on the food as they COULDN'T come. But i ain't gonna say who. Anyway this is the sambal sotong. Very appetizing.

A closer look on the sambal sotongs. It could have been better if it's spicier. The food served are from Stall 7 , Taman Selera.

"Money Vege" is what most people would refer this dish as. One of my favourite.

Chicken Wings... 10 pieces of it so Ben won't steal it from me.

This is the...er.... for a second, i forgot what it is called.

Could someone be kind enough to tell me what it is? Here's a hint, it comes from the sea, and it looks like a bean sprout but it taste like squid.

The clamssssssssssssssss! Every guy's favourite. NO PUN. Actually i did ordered an ASAM FISH HEAD but i was too hungry that i forgot to take a picture of it. Some other time then. By the way this is a short post as i can't stand looking at the pics while writing without having my lunch.

Lunch treat by Joey @ Double Star

This is Joey ( princessjoeyhiltonnews.blogspot.com ). Her workplace is just a stone's throw away from my office and since she fancy me, she decided to treat me for lunch on my birthday. No, seriously it was just because it's my big day and those who know me have to treat me for something. So we decided to drop by Double Star during lunchtime.

This is Double Star which is an air conditioned eating establishment or restaurant , anyhow you would like to call it. I arrived earlier with Patrick and Ben to accompany me just in case i got loss in Pelita Commercial Centre. You know how dangerous it can get for a young handsome cool guy to be left stranded in places like this.

The interior of Double Star looks impressive enough and it spots few adequate dining spaces for patrons. It's clean and cooling , something which i had expected along just by looking at the outward appearance of this eating establishment.

It even has flat screen hanging against the wall as a recourse for those moments when you get bored talking to your obviously unattractive partners.

This is ben looking all confused. I didn't took a pic of Patrick as he looked real old today.

I didn't try to take advantage of Joey's willingness to pay for my meal by ordering expensive meals so i opted for the much cheaper Lemon Chicken Rice. It cost RM5.50 and it comes with a PATIN soup.

An upclose shot of the Lemon Chicken Rice. The meat tasted too raw to my liking and it didn't really exude out some real lemon essence. I enjoyed the companionship though. Thanks joey for the free lunch.

* Double Star belongs to one of my football mate, so i can't write anything bad about it.

23 Birthday Shortbreads...

It's OFFICIAL as of 21-12-2006, i'm 23 years old. How another year passes so quickly. It certainly had been quite a year for me but i'll just discuss that more on another article. So, i received an early msg from a girl ( sheilatyz.blogspot.com ) asking me to collect the promised shortbreads made exclusively by her.

I had to require ben's help to drive me all the way down to collect her hand-made shortbreads as my car is still in the workshop for some paintjob and it wouldn't be out after Xmas. Long story short, i went to Sheila's place personally to try THE BEST SHORTBREADS in town or so she claimed. I was given a small pink box with teddy bear cartoons as sort of beautifying the whole presentation.

The lid of the box was lifted up to unveil the golden looking shortbreads in all it's glory. Shortbreads are actually made of stiff dough that retains its shape well during cooking which turned out to be biscuits after baking and normally it's patterned to ones taste.

Sheila certainly did not disappoint me with her biscuit making skills. She might turn out to be a pro next time i hope so i can freeload of her from time to time.

I had a slice of it and it amazes me how buttery and sweet the taste were. It even has this firm and crumbly texture to it. She certainly had done a great job and i am proud of her. LOL. Just in case you all are wondering how the next pro shortbread maker looks like, i leave you all here with her pic. ( without her consent of cause )

camwhoring at it's best. no offense.

I had these in 126 Labuan.

Kang Kung with Belacan and Sambal.

I forgot what this claypot thingy called. It tasted great.

Some tofus with salted meat as toppings.

Another shot of the claypot thingy. I am running out of meaningful words.

A plate of fishballs fried with spring onions and ginger. Great combination indeed.

Look how springy it can get~~ oh ya, it reminds me of a comment made by my bro's fren ( a girl ) that i write suggestive articles? How could food be termed as suggestive?

Look at the eyes..... just look at it. It says something.

The end

It was brief....

It was short....

It was the beginning of the end....

It was not meant to be....

It was part of my memory....

It was the end for both of us....

when i remove all the memories we had. Goodbye.

Adrians Birthday at Pong's Cafe

5th of December happens to be my cousin's birthday and we were treated for free dinner at Pong's Cafe. I didn't took any pictures of Pong's Cafe as my memory stick was full. Anyway, here goes the pictures during that night. Btw, my cousin ( which i normally hang out with ) is Adrian Tiong .

The birthday boy with his EX stjoe girlfriends. Seems like they really love him, i just wonder what might have had happen if he was a she.

Lim and Ah Huat inspecting the cake.

I got myself a plate of Thai's Pork Rice. Pong's Cafe does offer food in large portions which of cause is a good deal compared to the rest offered in town.

It tasted sour , very very sour in my POV. Just look at that essence soaking in beneath the pork meat. All in all, please do patronised Pong's Cafe when you're starving. Not much to write about as there weren't any games organized. I'll just post up some pics during the night, which some were taken by Yvonne and some by Ben.

This is the piece of cake i got. It's a cheesecake.

I've promised not take my own pics as this article is solely dedicated to the birthday boy on his 22th birthday.

Aw... how sweet. That's Yvonne on the left and Adrian on the right.

Plain rice had never taste that better if your partner is the one feeding you.

More feeding.. they were constantly feeding each other through the night.

Obviously disturbed by the constant feeding scene, Ben decided to take matters into his own hands.

I just wonder why it's sort of a tradition or neccesaty to cut the cake first. The next time i have a cake, i will ask someone to cut it for me.

Yvonne seems like she's digging her nose.

Ah Huat and Ming Hui. Giants...

What's so funny? 20 Bucks, adrian just farted.

The stoned look. I really love those off guard shots but i bet you all are tired of looking at their pics now. I know that you guys just wanna see me eh.

Ending this article with a group pic. There you go. FYI, my birthday is on the 21st this month and yeah, everyone is invited to my party but all should come in some weird party costume. Time and venue TBA.
