Lunch with my mates @ Seng Guan Cafe

Seng Guan Cafe serves as another hideout for me and my mates whenever we run out of any ideas on where to eat during lunchtime. Yes, before you ask, it's another chicken rice stall ( not again ) situated just below Milan Bridal Studio at the very end of Pelita Commercial Centre.

Seng Guan Cafe does not solely concentrate on selling chicken rice, there are a few other stalls just in front which earn a living by selling local delicacies such as Kolok Mee, Penang Fried Kueh Tiaw to Rojak. I've tried nothing else besides the Penang Fried Kueh Tiaw and it's delicious.

The seating arrangements of plastic chairs and wooden tables are normally packed with people of all walks of life. Except for Muslims though as it's a NON-Halal stall. Patrons are advised to arrived before 12.00PM as by then, the cafe would be full with businessmen/women all talking bout office politics which you would not wanna listen to. *Btw, thats Adrian the "being handsome is not a sin" Tiong.

The stall front has displays of whole steamed chicken and other meats. Noticed the green coloured pile of cucumbers at the corner. Once a famous place for their broiled chicken broth, it has now gone AWOL much to my amazement and despair. I suppose the proprietor had turned lazy as much preparation is needed for the Ginseng-filled chicken broth.

There's a red-shirt chiobu nanny who constantly sweeps the floor while you are eating. That bothers me really. Someone should put a stop to it. Let's whacked her for not looking CHIO enough. J/k. Oh heck, that's the guy called Peter putting up a fake smile for the camera. He's Patrick's new love bud.

That's the chicken rice i got. How time has changed, 2 years ago, the chicken rice were all steamed with ginger and chicken essense but then all i got now is a plate of plain white rice.

A close up with the main platter i got. I love breast meat... therefore i got it ( Who doesnt? ;P ). The cucumbers which are cushioned beneath the tender meat soaks up the salty chicken essense nicely and it does imparts a great taste. There's even a complimentary piece of pork meat that serves more of a decoration purpose. LOL.

I think that their chicken rice will taste that much better if they had went on with their famous chicken broth... but then, some people just like it simple just like my cousin here.
