5 MUST HAVE things for Chunghua's Foodfair

Before i start making fun of this food fair event, let me be extremely honest with you. I was once a Chunghua student so don't go posting up shrewed comments that i'm bias or some lame-S shit bout me because i have that coming all my life. Period.

*I'm sorry, no pictures were taken so just bear with me for a lil while.

Yesterday, was another memorable day for the current Chung-huains but i could doubt that the ex students were impressed by the whole event. As a matter of fact. FUN wasn't the main theme, Enjoyment did not popped out, Surprises were barely seen, what more to say, the food was a disaster.

I went back home.... feeling rather down by how dull and boring the food fair was. It's the same every year after Me and my mates left school. I understand that it's bound to happen but never did i know it came so soon. * Cough.

Actually, IF only the people involved could just pay me a small sum for my smart suggestions, i guarantee that the whole food fair event would be a hit , not only among the students, but to the public as well.

I do not want to criticise anyone for the lack of OOOMPH, because it's understood that they are seriously lacking in brainy people like me. No, serious.

Adam's TOP 5 Suggestions to spice up your foodfair:

1. Come up with a nice tagline.

See, if you really want to attract people to your food fair, the smart way is to come up with something catchy. Phrases like " Go ahead, Stay Ahead " , " The Future is in your hands , Look Up " does not even make people feel hype up at all. Just be honest with me, i don't want you to lie and tell me which phrase catches your attention more? " Our food fair, Your food fair " , " Food "R" Us " or even " Chunghua's Food, Better than your mums " .

Whenever you see the distribution of coupons, people would really look at the tagline. An eye catching tagline will make people aware of it's existence. sounds lame and being typical Malaysians, we don't care about other people besides ourselves so there's no point in choosing this tagline " Our foodfair, Your foodfair ". " Food "R" Us " definitely sounds better and it sounds cute. But cute is not what adults want. Yes, the only thing adult wants to see when it comes to CUTE is with their babies, not food. So, we are left with one more tagline that stands gloriously tall " Chunghua's food, Better than your mums ". Let me explain why this is the best tagline one could ever come up with. Us human beings never like to be prove-wrong. So, this phrase totally catch everyone off guard and Boom, they you go, come next sunday , many people would be arriving in hordes trying to check out on how good your food are. Trust me. * Many... many mums would be arriving.

2. Serve Good Food with Reasonable Price.

Lazy students like us tend to be complacent with things, and when it comes to food that we ourselves are not eating, we really do not care much at all as long as people will buy it. I spent 4 hours at this Chunghua food fair and went home with 1 box of sushi , 1 packet of sweet & sour chicken rice and 1 bottle of sugarcane drink for the amount of RM30. You smart jackasses , come do the calculation.

Yes yes, i heard you murmured " it's a food fair and foods at food fair tends to be that little expensive" . But fact is, it doesn't mean that it presented & tasted like crap too. I apologize for those whom i had offended with my comments but from what i've seen, many would be pissed with me. In order to attract more people to buy your food, you need to have the heart to serve people with good food. Nevermind the price first as long as the food is good. No one wants to be charged RM 10 for a bag of candies, that's just unbelievable. " A Good seller = A Good Buyer "

3. Come up with more fun-filled activities.

I've seen a trend in food fair events nowadays. Whenever there are food fair around, not much activities are provided. I admit, that some events do provide activities but truth is, there's no FUN in it at all.

You wanna know what FUN actually means? It's when you are making FUN of other people than yourselve. Us worldly human beings seeks delight by seeing another person being made fun of. So, Chung Hua should have came up with this brilliant idea and grabbed a few lucky ones on stage and do anything or even forced them to do stupid things just to make everyone at the food fair laugh. It would have help boost sales revenue too. Don't be afraid to annoy that person on stage, since food fair is just done once a year.

4. ONLY hire girls to do sales of food.

Be it a cute, pretty, kawaii or a plump-sized girl, just make sure that every food stall should be manned by 2 or 3 chicks. I've yet to do a proper research on this but i've found out that whenever a stall or sales booth are operated by girls, sales revenue would increase automatically compared to the ones operated by guys.

It's not that guy's couldn't do sales. It's just that they are hopeless when they are doing business with girls. * not all, but most.

From information that i've gathered, i spent 100% of my coupons on stalls which were operated by girls and i am not easily impressed by girls. That says a lot.

Oh and another thing, think about this , would you be more inclined to buy a hand-made sandwich from a girl or a guy?

5. A kissing booth.

I've seen that they did it in the states and why can't we do it here in Malaysia? Chung Hua should dig deep and treasure what they really have. The setting up of a booth is not that costly at all. If they can come out with 4 new blocks in 4 years time, why can't they just set up 4 small booths for the happiness of all the guys and girls who came to the food fair?? I've interviewed a few girls and the feedback was really promising:

The girls below were asked on the idea of a kissing booth for the foodfair:

Celine Chiong ( Transition, Art side ): " It's actually a good idea ah, Can earn more ma, It also means i am pretty so people want me kiss them ma"

Jasmine Tea ( Form 3 ): " I personally think that it's quite an interesting idea and we would be the first in Miri or the state to come up with this. I say we might try next year, depending on the approval from our teachers "

Anna Lim ( Form 5 ): " It's certainly the best suggestion one could come up with, my boyfriend had been kissing other girls behind my back for the past 2 years , now it's my turn to do the same, but this time it's legit "

So, need i say more? Names were altered by the way. Testimonials weren't.

The above are my humble suggestions for a successful food fair. I strongly recommend the organizers to take into account of the response from the public too. Lastly, Food Fair should always offer FUN and GOOD FOOD.
