The audience who was never there

It's been a while since i last wrote something useful here. Well, things had gone well for me as of late.

Today is actually quite an auspicious day, for some if not for me because as of today, its the 14th night of the seventh lunar month where according to "credible" sources, spirits aka ghost ( whatever you wanna call it, as long as it makes you happy ) comes out from the lower world to feasts and party.

Traditionally, majority of the Chinese ( who are mostly Buddhist ) * notice how i need to get my facts right, would come all out by preparing ritualistic food offerings, hell notes, bags of clothes to pay homage to their visiting spirits to the ancestors, treating the deceased as if they are still living.

So, for the well-off family, the deceased would most probably end up with designer apparels due to the capability to burn LV bags, GUCCI sunglasses or even ANNA Sui's perfumes. For those typical Chinese who constantly competes with each other, they even go the distance by setting up their mansion on fire just to show their neighbors how rich they are.

Yet for those who can't even afford to offer anything...... one would wonder what the deceased would be wearing once the gates close.

I've wondered if they can spend so much on burning clothes, cars or even releasing boats on water for the dead, will they actually start throwing in insect repellents if i somehow tell them that their ancestors might need it. That would be an unsafe ACT, don't you think so?

Ok, let's not make fun of traditions here shall we? You know how "sensitive" our community can get next. So, this is what i am supposed to tell you after such a long winding intro..

2 days ago, i was driving back home with one of my friend right after mingling around with FEW hot chicks at Sea Horse. Along the way back it started to rain, so i turn my wipers on and while i was having a chat with my friend, i noticed a guy squatting by the road side in a white shirt. His back was facing me and as i slow down to have a look, he stared at me with his cold-blooded eyes.

It gave me goosebumps. It certainly would if you are driving along that ACCIDENT-PRONE road around 1.30AM. What shocked me is when he kept looking at me as his head turn behind his back!!!!!!!!

I kept quiet....... until i reached home when i finally asked my friend whether he had noticed the strange...apparition. He said..... he saw... nothing.

Oh besides that, i went out for movie with few of my friend last nite to catch Jet Li in action. Rogue Assassin was on and we booked a 9.00PM movie.

We were designated a seat each and there were 5 of us. My friend by the name of Ah Chu sat at the far corner and was constantly disturbing me while i was concentrating on the movie when his ring accidentally drop down.

Being the nice and helpful person, i flash my hand phone's light to ease his search of the ring. As you know, i have cheap yet durable hand phones and the lights weren't as clear as his SONY ERICSSON so after searching for some time, he got fed up.

The next thing he did was to use his own hand phone and bend down to look for his ring. He was kneeling down on the floor and looking straight down the seats as i persuade him to just go to the front seat to have a look but he resist telling me not to disturb the audience in front.

According to him, he saw 2 couple's leg in front of his seat but then as he got up, there wasn't even a single person seating in the row of seats in front of us. So.... how is it possible that he saw legs when i saw nothing at all?????????

曹格 - 新不了情

Just in case you need the lyrics:
here it goes:

心若倦了,
xin ruo juan le
If your heart is weary,
泪也乾了,
lei ye gan le
And your tears are all dried up.
这份心情,
zhe fen xin qing
This feeling,
难舍难了。
nan she nan liao
Is hard to relinquish or forget.

曾经拥有,
ceng jing yong you
I once used to have,
天荒地老,
tian huang di lao
All the time in the world.
已不见你,
yi bu jian ni
But I haven't seen you,
暮暮与朝朝。
mu mu yu chao chao
For many nights and many days.

这一份情,
zhe yi fen qing
This love,
永远难了,
Is forever difficult to resolve.
愿来生还能,
yuan lai sheng hai neng
I hope in our afterlife,
再度拥抱。
zai du yong bao
We can embrace again.

爱一个人,
ai yi ge ren
Loving someone,
如何斯守到老,
ru he si shou dao lao
How do you remain faithful till you're old?
怎样面对一切,
zen yang mian dui yi qie
How do you face everything,
我不知道。
wo bu zhi dao
I do not know.

回忆过去,
hui yi guo qu
Reviewing the past,
痛苦的相思忘不了,
tong ku de si xiang wang bu liao
The painful memories are unforgettable.
为何你还来,
wei he ni hai lao
Why do you come then,
拨动我心跳。
bo dong wo xin tiao
To make my heart race.
爱你怎么能了,
ai ni zen me neng liao
How is it possible to stop loving you?
今夜的你应该明了,
jin ye de ni ying gai ming liao
Tonight, you should understand,
缘难了情难了。
yuan nan liao qing nan liao.
It is difficult to escape fate, just as it is difficult to dissolve love.

Xin Bu Liao Qing

This is certainly one , if not the best performance i ever came across.

Don't you think so?

Alone in the office

I am sitting here alone in the office. All that i could hear are noises from outside.

I could:

Hear a child crying:

I think that somebody bullied him, or maybe he was pissed off that his mum didn't gave him the nipples to chew on. Or it might be that he felt lonely ( just like me ) so he decided to fill up his time by crying his hearts out.

Hear someone walking up and down the stairs:

It must have been the ladies from around my office. It must have been them trying to figure where i am working. I could easily hear their footsteps, their high heels. I hope it's the pretty tutor from opposite my ex company. But it couldn't be because a girl like her would never waste her time TRYING to figure out where i am working. She left her number on a piece of note beside my car.

Hear someone knocking on the wall:

It could be anything actually. Somebody told me that when you are alone in a confine space, theres a large chance that you would come across THINGS from the other side. Well, i disagree. It's just our own imagination. From my experience on banging against the wall for few years, i'll conclude that the sound i am hearing is actually from 2 employees having scandal in the office. Oh wait, i heard 3 voices.

Hear a little girl calling up my name:

It's just my imagination. It couldn't be that little girl who had been following me for the past few months eh? As far as i know, i got rid of her with that barney drawing i had.

Hear someone farted:

*blushed* yeah, it's me. Just had Chicken Oriental last nite, it was awesome. The onions were great too. No wonder it smelled familiar.

Hear sports car driving past:

It could be my friend's trying to runaway from the traffic police. He just had his car compounded the other day for having 100% tinted glass on, 3.5" exhaust pipe, heavily modified interior and exterior. For your info, it's illegal to have such modification on. It reminds me of my own car.

Hear the clock ticking:

It means that i can go back at 5 sooner rather than later. It also means that i am spending time in the office rather than lying on bed listening to nothing.

Hear my hp beep:

Ah.... it must be michelle wong , or maybe cammy, wait, it could be kelly. Hmm... i think it could be yvonne or yun yun. No, something tells me if could be my ex , trying to msg me and reconcile.

Hear cars honking:

It must be that impatient driver again. Something tells me that, the driver is either waiting for his/her daughters to come down from tuition or, the driver might have seen his/her friends dining at the cafe below. I'll put my grand on the driver honking JUST FOR FUN to attract the malay girl working downstairs. Seriously, if she didnt have her tudung on, she would like like that girl called Fergie from Black Eyed Peas.
