Planet Food, Piasau Review

Last week, i had the opportunity to visit one of my dad's relative's cafe near Piasau Garden 1. My dad had been raving about his relative's cafe so much that he had been pestering me 24/7 to drive him there. PLANET FOOD , i introduced to all of you.

* Planet Food? What kind of name is this? What happened to good ol' names like Kiat Siang Cafe or John's Deli?

For those who do not know it's whereabouts, it's situated at the OLD SMART Market at Piasau Garden 1.

True to the word Piasau Garden, there are trees and grass around... hmm. I think ho, the surrounding quite nice as couples could have the luxury to date or play on the grass after having their lunch/dinner.

So, me , my dad and patrick dropped by, not knowing what awaits at PLANET FOOD. We hesitate to enter its premises as the thought of having aliens serving us their delicacies really feel kinda awkward. Am i in for some culture universal shock or what, i do not know.

To my surprise,

Planet cafe's serves YEO's Sugar Cane drinks. That's some economical stuff we are talking right now. I actually thought they might call it Pluto Sugarcane Juice or what but then, i think they were just to lazy to be creative. The only outer space looking "thang" Planet Cafe could boast about are their mugs.

The management really did some great job with the interior of Planet Cafe though. As you can see from the above, the colours of the walls and the tiles does not even match, which really gives you the hint to anyone ( except for those who are colour blind ) that, it represents the earth and the sea = earth.

The drawings on the walls looked rather disturbing as one could only figure that's some fantastic finishing touch by the fingers of an Alien = Messy and Meaningless.

The only thing that impresses me most at Planet Food is it's ceiling fan ( 8 Rotating Units of it!!! ) .Not only does the management clean their fans everyday, they turn it on everyday too. Most cafe do not offer such services as it really increases the cost and some aren't too bothered about the hygiene of its patrons.

Adam: Wahlaoeh, look at the 8 units of fans at such a small cafe. Are they selling food or fans?
Patrick: People rich ma, so can install how many they like lo.
Adam: Hmm...

Anyways, i got myself a plate of Fried Kueh Tiaw;

I had personally requested the chef to dump in MORE Bean sprouts but unfortunately, they had ran out of supplies and the egg was it's subtitute. A plate of Planet Food's Fried Kueh Tiaw cost only RM 2.50 , and that's freaking cheap!!!!!

A close up of the dish:

I love that lump of egg. It reminds me of something.. lol.

The kueh tiaw was OK to me, but it's not one of my favourite. It tasted rather plain and of cause , there weren't many bean sprouts around. But, it's just ideal for those who prefer a healthy eating lifestyle.

Patrick does not look pretty happy with the food or is he just trying to be cool? I don't know, do you?

The other dish my dad had was Mee Siam, Siamese Mee in english:

Mee Siam looks more appealing than our fried kueh tiaws. Consisting of sliced up tofus , delicious cooked prawns on top and a mixture of a sweet, sour and spicy gravy, it really does make anyone salivate. It tasted delicious according to my dad.

Hungry now? At only Rm 3.00 per dish, its a hit! Just imagine having those prawns inside your mouth now...

One thing i do not like about Planet Food is it's Table. The edges are too sharp for my liking and no one would like to lean their arms, wrist , hands or legs against it. Lol.

See See! That's how sharp the edges are and i swear you will bleed to death if you apply too much pressure on it with your wrist.

and a few more pics to comment on;

Another thing you should know about Planet Food is that, they won't force you to pay, nor will they collect from you should they had many people patronising their establishment. That's one good news for freeloaders though.

I suggest that any of you guys out there who are on a tight budget and need to take your girl out for lunch to go to this cafe. The place is cooling and secluded too.
