The audience who was never there

It's been a while since i last wrote something useful here. Well, things had gone well for me as of late.

Today is actually quite an auspicious day, for some if not for me because as of today, its the 14th night of the seventh lunar month where according to "credible" sources, spirits aka ghost ( whatever you wanna call it, as long as it makes you happy ) comes out from the lower world to feasts and party.

Traditionally, majority of the Chinese ( who are mostly Buddhist ) * notice how i need to get my facts right, would come all out by preparing ritualistic food offerings, hell notes, bags of clothes to pay homage to their visiting spirits to the ancestors, treating the deceased as if they are still living.

So, for the well-off family, the deceased would most probably end up with designer apparels due to the capability to burn LV bags, GUCCI sunglasses or even ANNA Sui's perfumes. For those typical Chinese who constantly competes with each other, they even go the distance by setting up their mansion on fire just to show their neighbors how rich they are.

Yet for those who can't even afford to offer anything...... one would wonder what the deceased would be wearing once the gates close.

I've wondered if they can spend so much on burning clothes, cars or even releasing boats on water for the dead, will they actually start throwing in insect repellents if i somehow tell them that their ancestors might need it. That would be an unsafe ACT, don't you think so?

Ok, let's not make fun of traditions here shall we? You know how "sensitive" our community can get next. So, this is what i am supposed to tell you after such a long winding intro..

2 days ago, i was driving back home with one of my friend right after mingling around with FEW hot chicks at Sea Horse. Along the way back it started to rain, so i turn my wipers on and while i was having a chat with my friend, i noticed a guy squatting by the road side in a white shirt. His back was facing me and as i slow down to have a look, he stared at me with his cold-blooded eyes.

It gave me goosebumps. It certainly would if you are driving along that ACCIDENT-PRONE road around 1.30AM. What shocked me is when he kept looking at me as his head turn behind his back!!!!!!!!

I kept quiet....... until i reached home when i finally asked my friend whether he had noticed the strange...apparition. He said..... he saw... nothing.

Oh besides that, i went out for movie with few of my friend last nite to catch Jet Li in action. Rogue Assassin was on and we booked a 9.00PM movie.

We were designated a seat each and there were 5 of us. My friend by the name of Ah Chu sat at the far corner and was constantly disturbing me while i was concentrating on the movie when his ring accidentally drop down.

Being the nice and helpful person, i flash my hand phone's light to ease his search of the ring. As you know, i have cheap yet durable hand phones and the lights weren't as clear as his SONY ERICSSON so after searching for some time, he got fed up.

The next thing he did was to use his own hand phone and bend down to look for his ring. He was kneeling down on the floor and looking straight down the seats as i persuade him to just go to the front seat to have a look but he resist telling me not to disturb the audience in front.

According to him, he saw 2 couple's leg in front of his seat but then as he got up, there wasn't even a single person seating in the row of seats in front of us. So.... how is it possible that he saw legs when i saw nothing at all?????????

Time: 10.30PM,
Movie: Jet Li & John Statham ( Rogue Assassin )
Date: 26 - 08 - 2007
Row: E
Seat : 14 - 15
