Xuan Court Review

" Hai Shang Guan " which also means Sea's court was up and running few months ago, i could not remember. I did not understand instead of having Sea court as it's original name, they opted for something more spectacular.... XUAN Court. What the heck is that? Xuan Court is located at Krokop 1, beneath Miri Yuanji Health Centre. ( see pics )

Anyways , i went there for lunch today because i have to met up with my mum.

There weren't many people around, so it was definitely more cooling and relaxing too.

* Pat and Adol sharing a light moment together.

Patrick and my bro Adolphus were already there when i arrived. They had even finished their meal. I thought they were supposed to wait for me. How times have changed.... the younger ones do not respect the older ones. It's a fact.

Few things about this eatery really took me by surprised. The decorations on the wall, on top of the ceiling and nearly everywhere was an utter disappointment. Some may call it Inspiration, I on the other hand call it....a DISAPPOINTMENT.

There were lanterns hanging all over the place, and few spiralling type of lightings near the payment counter. I wasn't impressed with the overall presentation of this eating establishment despite boasting JOTUN's Red and Orange paint. It certainly does make you feel like they are supporting Spain.

Luckily, the dish served was way better than the outlook of the cafe. I got myself a plate of " Gong Bao Fish Rice " . It's slices of fish being cooked alongside dried chilis , spring onions and onions. It tasted sweet and spicy. The fish was fresh , which was a positive thing. The rice was okay too.

Here's a close up of how a plate of authentic " Gong Bao Fish Rice " looks like. For RM3.50 , it's worth trying.

Best having it during cold weather as the effects of it's dry chili does kick in whenever you have a bite on it. ( Don't Swallow ). I rate it an acceptable 7.5 /10 .

Sushi Teppanyaki @ Boulevard Food Court Review

This is a shot of Boulevard Shopping Mall yesterday. I went there with my dad for lunch. It wasn't packed and i was able to move about taking pictures freely.

Basically, the only place to have your tummy really filled up is at the top floor. The Boulevard Food Court boasts 20 or more food stalls which offer a wide range/variesties of food to satisfy your palate. " Tie Pan Sao " caught my eye the most. It literally meant " Hot Plate " in chinese.

Just incase you thought i am lying, it's at the top floor. One could easily spot another drinking cafeteria called " Siaw Mu Chuan " aka " The Small Wooden Barge Boat " below.

This is Boulevard Shopping Mall's *Only Japanese-influenced stall , and the only stall which sells sushi. Any Sushi lovers who are in for some fast food should dropped by sometime. Theres a small refrigerated counter in front which offers a wide range or sushi. From Unagi Bento to Chicken Sesamme Bento.

Here's a big lightening signage which emblazon the words SUSHI TEPPANYAKI - " Tie Pan Sao " . Anyone reaching up the food court would easily spot this particular store due to it's really bright and eye catching colour. I just wondered why it's written in CHINESE letters instead of JAPANESE. Hmm..

I also noticed a menu plastered signboard leaning by the side of the pillar which boasts a wide array of Japanese Sushi. The line-up was great, it's even better when you feel hungry. I browse through the menu and i admit i did find it hard which sushi meal to choose. It's just like having the luxury to choose 12 Japanese Ladies. It's so hard...

WAHLAOEH.... first thing first. Japanese Sushi Stall , Chinese Lettered Signage , Malay Owners?!? Definitely, its a Halal stall and to me, the whole japanese-chinese-malay vibe did not worked pretty well. The cashier did not looked very impressed or she just had her PMS , i have no idea.

So anyways, i got myself a plate of " Unagi Bento ". It retails for RM6.99 . It's pretty cheap to be honest and the food is simple yet appetizing. It consisted of a piece of sliced eel, 2 pieces of egg and chicken sushi which are wrapped nicely in between. The green "stuff" is known as Wasabi which i assume most of you would know what it is. They decided to have a pink-coloured coleslaw for me because they thought i was a girl. Damn...

The " UNAGI " which means Eel if i am right tasted just alright. It was what i want after a hectic morning. It's sweet and the meat is so soft and tender that you would believe they had lathered the eel with Johnson & Johnson's baby lotion few days ago. Although it came out oily, it tasted great with some shreded chicken meat resting on top.

Here's a close up of how everything is separated into sections. It was neatly done. I enjoyed the chicken sushi ( golden brown coloured : top right ) the most as it is easily consumed. The rice was alright and the chef did took extra time off to ensure it's rice is fresh and kept under perfect eating conditions. ( The texture of the rice was good )

I really like how it's wrapped in between with dried shiny seaweed. * Do not mistake it for weed/canabis . You could easily taste the sweet and sour sauce which are smeared on it once had it in your mouth. It was pure.... sushi-liked.

This is a part of the eel. Having bits and pieces of sesamee sprinkled on top of it really did bring out the A Factor in it. I , having no sushi-eating experience whatsoever found this meal surprisingly easy to take in. It's good for those on the run and also for those who prefer something oriental instead of the usual Nagaliar Nasi Lemak or New Kuok Kee mix vege rice.

Initial D wannabe

This is Jay Chou's pin up while shooting his first movie, Initial D. The movie was a hit and it did spread worldwide fame for this lucky guy. Kawaii chicks began to understand the term BOV ( Blow Off Valves ) and also ( of cause ) The Trueno AE86.

This person leh... is Adrian Tiong. I believe Mirians know him well. He has no movie credits under his belt, no worldwide fame, no taiwanese girls to date with, but ho... he got 1 korean-liked girlfriend la.

Adrian's Dad: My son really does look like JAY CHOU and JAY CHOU is Famous, i'm proud..
Adam's Dad: My Son does not look like JAY CHOU and he is famous, i'm worried..

So anyways, credits given to Adrian for doing as convincing impersonation of Jay Chou. Gambate.

Golden Pot Restaurant Review

Golden Pot Restaurant has such an attention-grabbing name that i feel it's a must to patronised that place. The first thing that came into my mind was GOLD COINS, FREAKING LOTS OF IT....

It's situated near the mouth of Miri's river... I have nothing positive to say about Miri's river apart from having crabs residing along the river bank. Folks who had been to Everise Supermarket will know it's whereabouts. It's right at it's opposite.

I decided to check it out with few of my friends late saturday. This signage outside the cafe did caught my attention. Coincidentally, i was wearing a football jersey of the France National Team, and this waitress cunningly smartly took advantage of me that she suggest i tried out it's latest meal........ The France Style .. Bacon & Ham Fried Rice. I swear i didn't saw the fried rice , if i did, i would not have ordered.

and RM6.00, it's surely something special i thought.

Golden Pot Restaurant has air conditioned indoor seating arrangment as well as dining areas outside it's establishment for smokers. It has a very nice ambience, the decorations were simple yet calming. I prefer cafe's who decorates less, too much is no good. The tables and seats arre arranged nicely and so are the blinds. Lol.

On my right, is Ben. Seriously, on my right is a small gateway to a tranquil eating experience. The management decided the best way for patrons to relax while eating is to listen to the splash of water against the wall. That's so ingenious. I wouldn't want a tuxedoed up me to get wet sitting next to it.

I got myself a plate of... Yes, the France Style Bacon and Ham Fried Rice. Upon arrival of the dish, i was confused..... I called for the waitress just to make sure it was A France Style Bacon & Ham Fried Rice. Man... it looked so.... ordinary. For Rm6.00 it was probably a ripped off. I am slaughtered.

The dish comes with a little bowl of soup with a very questionable kind of vege/herb sprinkled onto it. I didnt like the soup to be honest, it smelled like..... semen, Animal Semen!!! ARGH!!!

That's how my "FRANCE STYLE" fried rice looks like. For RM 6.00.... :( . I didnt really enjoyed it.

Ironically, my gf really does enjoy fried rice. It really did reminded me of her while eating fried rice. She's coming back on the same day i am eating this.

A close up view of the fried rice. It has a mixture of green peas, cut up carrots, corns which really did look like the usual stuff i eat at home but WITH, i repeat WITH bacon and ham. It took me 1 hour to finish 3/8 of it. It wasn't the quality of the food that took me so long, it was the PRICE of the food. ;)

Peach Garden Mee's Review

If you are talking about good local Mee aka Noodle, Peach Garden Restaurant & Cafe is the best place to be every morning. It is my favourite place for no-frills kampua-liked mee. I went there last saturday morning.

This is where Peach Garden is located. Right beside Servay Morsjaya Supermarket. Any locals would instantly identify it's whereabouts by looking at the pic above. The good thing about Peach Garden is there are ample parking space available.

I managed to take a pic of the cook. I call him "Ah Bee" as he reminds me of my cousin. My other cousin is a proprietor of an Internet Cafe near my workplace so they are not related whatsoever. What amazes me the most about this cook is he could remember the list of orders, to people who ordered and their seating just by having a glimpse of them. I swear he is that good and he serves his food real fast.

whilst waiting for the food, i ordered a glass of "Kopi-O-Peng" which in other words is known as " Ice Coffee ". My mum warned me not to have cold drinks in the morning, i wasn't bothered much though.

So, this is what we had and that is how the kampua-liked mee looks like. Could someone please tell me this is some Sibu Kampua Mee because it does really look like one. It comes with a bowl of " Ching Tang" which means " SOUP ".

My bro ordered a plate of it. It's served with Soy Sauce , few slices of Char Siew ( Pork ), spring onions and fried onions. He likes it that way.

I myself ordered a bowl of Mee Soup. I like how the slices of Pork meat floats on top of the noodles. The soup tasted real nice as it is boiled alongside the bones. I aint going into detail though. ;)

It's that........ delicious. I love it. I am craving it the moment i am typing this out.

My mum always prefers a rather more lightening dish so she ordered a bowl of Kueh Tiaw Soup. She personally sprinkled more spring onions and fried ones to enhance the taste.

As for my dad, he opted for a plate of plain noodle. It tasted equally good without the soy sauce too.

My dad wanted to have HIS MEAT taken, so...there goes the piece of Char Siew. Lol

It's so appetizing that it took me a while to finish the bowl of noodles. Just look at how concentrated the soup looks with the fried onions in it. It's good food.

We finished it off just like usual. This bunch of ..... people i know are so camera shy. darn...
Anyway, i highly recommend you all to try Peach Garden's Mee out. It's worth it.

Wish me luck....

Or all the best some might say...

So, this afternoon i went down town with my colleague esyam. We finished what we were supposed to do earlier than expected and guess what, one of my friend called me up and asked me to buy some TOTO numbers for her.

This friend of mine promised to "CHIA" me seafood lar, wildboar meat la, birdsnest lar...if she win. I seriously doubt she would though. All those sweet talk...cheh.

But anyways, the thought of winning big really tempted me HARD!!! Yeah yeah, i know i'm not supposed to buy, but once a while ain't a big deal eh? * and my dad always ask me buy too.

Thus..I went to the nearest TOTO establishment which is available to me at that moment. I jot down the numbers into a piece of paper and proceed to the counter to have my LUCKY numbers keyed in by the staffs.

Whilst waiting, i noticed few signboards against the wall which stated how much the past winners had won. I stood there in disbelief..mouth wide open, and i believe many had done what i did too.

I paid RM11.00 overall and as you can see from the picture above. I had spent a total of RM4.40 on my own lucky number 2099. Btw, today is Wednesay ho...and Wednesday is draw day. WOOOHOOO.... someone' gonna get rm2500 x 4 richer tommorow morning loo...

...*ehem* ..I am feeling tired now, i really think i need a rest. Maybe it's because i had day-dreamt too much, but before i end this article, let me present to you an obligatory camwhore shot of me me me me.

Yes.... i look fierce here but i'll be smiling if i am RM2500 x 4 richer tommorow, so wish me all the best.

Raspberry Ice Cream Honey Crepe @ Timez Coffee

Last saturday i went out to Boulevard Shopping Mall after work to visit one of my favourite relaxing spot known as Timez Coffee.

Timez Coffee has been around for quite some time and strange enough, it seems that not many of our local folks talk much about it. It is situated on the 2nd Floor beside Easycom.

I stumbled upon few more kiosks outside Timez Coffee which sells large varieties of food ( duh ) , and drinks. Should any of you who choose not to dine in at Timez, there are few other choices too elsewhere.

Upon arrival, i noticed an electronic greeting board which says "WELCOME"* . Hmm, i guess that the staffs at Timez are just too busy to greet eh?

This is how Timez Coffee looks from the outside. The ceramic washing basin is located in front so that patrons could easily access it instead of walking to the back which is such a hassle. Timez Coffee occupies a small compartment. It's really is a small place, But Cozy is the word i'll term it.

Timez Coffee
actually reminds me more the Caprillia Chain in town. Anyone remember the old Caprillia Chain opposite Toys World? Yes. The only difference with it is , Timez Coffee sells Crepes and ONLY CREPES!

Anyways , crepes are just like thin layers of pancakes which are folded together with the inside being stuffed off any type of ice cream on offer, any type of fruits which are available and also any kind of toppings just to make your own customized crepe that ever delicious.

This is the "Ice Honey Cream with Raspberry Flavoured Crepe" i ordered alongside a beautifully designed tea cup which emblazons the word "Start Your Good Timez Here". For a total cost of RM 8.00 , i am sure you need to.

Ice Honey Cream with Raspberry Flavour Crepe: RM5.00
Ice Tea: Rm 3.00

" Start Your Good TIMEZ Here for Rm8.00 and above "

Not exceeding 100ML of Ice Tea. It really does burn your pockets for RM3.00 each. I need to have it as the hours i spend walking down the mall really did kick in.

This is a neatly folded crepe. A complete crepe with it's toppings will only take you 3 - 5 minutes for you to devour. It is supposed to be folded to ensure a good graps of it while you are happily biting on it. There is an opening at the side for your convenience.

The Ice Honey Raspberry Crepe is really delicious!!! The feeling of the soft, thin crepe is pure ecstasy.. :D . It contains a mixture of both vanilla and raspberry flavour as well. It's like biting into a soft layer of thin crepe and into a huge buldging conservatory of sweet cool and refreshing ice cream... bliss.....

A close up of the crepe. It taste wonderful, the two flavours complement each other nicely for a refreshing dessert.

I gave the thumbs up, you would too if you try....

even this la la mui and la la zai's agree....... wait no more, Start your good Timez there!!!!
