Sin Foh Cafe Co

If you peeps are looking for one of the best LAKSA in town, search no more. Word has it that , this place serves good, spicy, appetizing Laksa. Introducing Sin Foh Cafe Co.

It's easy to locate this cafe as it is situated beside Miri's river bank at Krokop 1. The owner himself choose to have his eating establishment decorated with numerous types of miniature aircrafts.

He even has an apache!!!

My apologies for not posting up how the interior looks like as i was taking pics by just sitting down and i am quite lazy to move around. Anyway, this is the little stall in front which as i've said earlier, sells the best laksa in town.

I did not ordered their laksa but instead opted for a much lighter meal. Their kolok mee is different from the rest in town. It's hard to describe, and i suggest you to try it yourselve.

Just look at how inviting the noodles look. I will never get tired of it.

PS: I am currently torturing my colleagues with GEORGE MICHAEL's "CARELESS WHISPER".

Tip - Top Karaoke & Cafeteria

This is Tip Top Karaoke. Desmond brought me here just to relax after a week of hard work.

The first thing that came into my mind as i approach this karaoke centre/hangout/establishment was how big it was compared to others in Miri. The 2nd thing was are there any decent food provided as i am on the verge of passing out after having an empty stomach for the whole day.

The entrance to Tip Top Karaoke. From the looks of it, it seems to be a rather chic place to be.

If you proceed further up via the staircase, it actually reveals a dining place dubbed the Tip-Top Cafeteria. According to my colleague Desmond, the actual owner comes from Sibu. I feel that Foochows seems to know what other Foochows does. No offense.

The bar looks cosy as one can choose to sip a cup of [insertpreferedbeverageshere] whilst looking at the different girls passing by.

The cafeteria itself looks neat and exudes a relaxing ambience. I found quite a number of Phillipinoes who dines there. There's even a China girl in a very very very short skirt sitting opposite Desmond that somehow made him choke for a while, while he was eating. I didn't know what made him choke.... i swear.

It even has flat screen tv in it's lounge to distract me from looking at "people passing by". How
thoughful of them.

This is the lamb chop i ordered. It has no gravy and i normally won't eat anything that has no gravy on it but somehow i finished it that nite. Tip Top really does miracles...

Island ( Ai Ren ) Garden Food & Cafe

Island Garden Food & Cafe has a rather unique name to it. This open air eating establishment is actually called LOVER if you pronounce it in mandarin base on it's chinese characters. It's in Labuan and the food ain't great and i am writing about it just because it has a weird name.

This is Desmond Ling, my colleague. He insisted on having breakfast here. Which also means he is to be blame if i ain't satisfied with the food.

Island ( Ai Ren - Lovers ) serves no pork. lol. I think that's why the food didn't tasted that good after all.

All sorts of food on display. I swear the brinjals were as big as *ehem* *cough* your handphone.

This is the waitress. She prefers me to call her Ah Moi instead of Miss. I bet she's from the Phillippines as she had that tagalog accent, not that i can differentiate.

I ordered a plate of their FAMOUS fried kueh tiaw with BIG prawns. The BIG prawns turn out to be the usual 2" dia prawns we have in town ler.

Don't let the looks deceive you. It's not good at all and my gf could do a better job than the cook herself. I ate half a plate of it and began puking all over the floor. Well, i guess i went too far, but honestly, i'll give this a consolation D!!!!!

PS: My gf does not know how to cook.

The reason i didn't blog...

Few days ago i saw something shocking on tv.

It left me traumatized for few days , yes til today.

I can barely even utter a word.

I cannot picture how such an advert was done in the first place.

I cannot digest what i saw.

It was Whisper's sanitary pad advert. Nothing wrong with the whole promotion thing til the narrator said this words. I quote" GO GIRL, HAVE A HAPPY PERIOD!!! "

Piasau's Kueh Tiaw Stall

I believed i've ( actually my mum ) just discovered another stall which sells delicious fried kueh tiaw. It's located around Piasau in front of the Namthong Enterprise building. It's whereabout is actually quite easy to find but the only worry is where to park your vehicle. However if you do not really treasure your assets much, you could choose to park your vehicle beside the busy road. ( where countless of long vehicle pass by ).

The stall has not much appealing decos on it, but their food is great. Trust me.

The owner of this stall talks cantonese to us all the time. I am quite sceptical about my mum's exuberant claim that it's the best fried kueh tiaw in Miri but i apologise on behalf of my mum for making such a statement without thinking of how the owners of other fried kueh tiaw stall might feel.

I ordered a plate and was taken aback by the presentation of the dish. It comes with a generous amount of bean sprouts and other misc treasures in it and there's even a piece of leaf originated from a banana tree just to enhance the taste. I've been told that it's there as a decorative purpose but my 2 cents says it's there to ease the dish-cleaning process.

After trying it out, it has to be ONE of the best fried kueh tiaw in Miri. Not the best, but somewhere ranking at the top.

Wall's Red Bean POTONG

This is Wall's Red Bean Ice Confection. It's also called the Wall's Red Bean Potong. Funny how recently our government had gave stern warnings on using Rojak languages. Well, i like ice creams as long as it's coated with red bean. I don't know how i ended up with 2 sticks of ice cream but well who's complaining when it's free of charge.

Wall's red bean confections is packaged with a tagline that reads out " Packed with Beans " . Doh' and as if we don't know.

Just look at how suggestive the POTONG looks. Wall's certainly did a great job by coming out with something that looks exactly like everyone's favourite POTONG. Pardon my ill-mannered jokes.

By the taste of it, it certainly ranks as one of the best. It's everyone's favourite or most girl's favourite shall i say.

Taking what's not mine - Part 2

I was strolling around my office when something at the corner of the meeting room caught my eye. It was a box of [insertseenitemhere] lying against the wall. I didn't know what it was although the box clearly had the words BORNEO drinking water on it.

Curiosity led me to open up the lid of the box. It reveals a number of drinking bottles with of cause , drinking water in it. I didn't know which selfish person decided to put it there instead of sharing it with the rest of the colleagues. I swear i'll bottle-slap that person if i found out who he/she is.

I got a bottle to quench my thirst after moving the box of drinking water into a much safer place - my desk.

Soon Hin Leong Cafe

This is Kedai Kopi Soon Hin Leong. One of my most frequented destination apart from the night clubs. This eating establishment serves good food , well not THAT good but then it's still considered suitable enough for me.

They serve White Coffee. I ordered and wasn't really impress with it.

The stall which sells it's popular kolok mee with char siew and roasted pork. The proprietor specially served me it's duck meat since he knows i aint from around here.

The kolok mee taste oily ( but in a good way ) and the noodles are more thinner than the usual noodles i had back home. All in all, it taste just like how it is present as. Decent.

I am feeling hungry now...

I did order a plate of tofus just to give me a whole new experience of what it's like having it early in the morning. * i only eat tofu's at NITE~

The white coffee tasted like.... the ordinary Nescafe you get from supermarkets. Not very impressive though.

MSN nicks

No cliche intros, i am going straight down the point with this.

I am sure that most , if not all, msn users do tend to choose their favourite phrases or romantic quotes as their msn nicks. Some would even go the distance by wasting their own precious time MODIFYING their nicks with symbols, smiley faces, flowers, stars, symbols and more symbols!

# Rule 1 - Don't torture your nick:

It amazes me how many creative human beings are out there actually. I spend 8 hrs a day online looking at my msn messenger for nicks which belong in the creative list. Creative as in beautifying their nicks with flowers and stars . EXAMPLE ( 1 ) : x0x0 *_lUv^Min_* x0x0 or EXAMPLE ( 2 ) @_@|^ng*|uV*hI|@_@ .

..... BUT FOR WHAT?????!?????!!????

This people certainly have much times on their hand more than anyone on earth and they always moan about how busy they are. Now we know where their time were spent at. Seriously, while they ( yes, boys are included as well ) think that by coming out with brainy symbols and love signs is cool, it actually ISN'T!!! It's an eyesore in fact and only school dropouts can understand what it mean. No wait, correct me , dropouts don't understand it either. I got you.

"They think it's cool and cute"

Wrong!!!! Anyone who says this will get a roundhouse kick specially from me if i happen to hear one. Nobody cares how beautiful the nicks are ok? %$&*&^$$__wen_^&^%% . What is that?? Could someone provide me with an answer why such msn user's tend to exist? It's such a complicated world and since the internet is here to ease our lifestyle, some people just pile more deepshits by coming out with such fancy nicks.

Just be simple ok? If you are into arts and trying to be creative, please disturb others during art class.

#Rule 2 - Don't get your languages mixed up:

Another thing that ticks me off are users who mix languages together. For Example: Mechanic Love-爱能不能永远 .

Okay. Mechanic Love followed by some chinese words that they themselve barely understand. It really burst my stomach just to see such peeps trying to be some literate guy/girl who seems to know-how-to-write-chinese-&-english .
By the way, what on earth does mechanic love meant anyway? [ shakes head ] .
I've even come across many nicks which containes hiragana or kanji characters. This guy ( name undisclosed ) was once asked what's the meaning of the japanese word he was happily typing out. He didn't knew what it was, i went to have a look at the learn-japanese-in-3-easy-steps and guess what? Mr Tommy Chia ( oops .. ) who thought Kitanai-Wane as a declaration of love to his gf actually turned out to be You're dirty! You're Unclean! . Way to go lover boy.

If you really aint familiar with words, don't try to be wise by adding different words in it. But if you are so inclined, why not browse the net for every single words from every single country and jumble it up in your nick. By then, i'll be impressed with your efforts.

#Rule 3 - Don't use names of anime characters

Never ever do that! This happens to most of the anime fans out there who are so engross with it that they choose to strip off their own birth name for lame names such as Orochimaru or Uchiha or even Momochi Zabuza to name a few. Seriously, do you intend your family members to call you that?

I shit you not , there was a time when this addicted anime freak who went out with me to a party and guess what. He insist on calling him his supposed anime name. So, i had to introduce him to the peeps that he is actually Squall Leonhart Chin from Miri. For final fantasy's sake, if you want to look silly, don't bring me along and also please please never include your surname at the back too. It just sounds so... not cool.

I've enough of this kinda nicks as of late. Hmm..... talking about the increasing rate of human beings who discard their own birth name for anime-japanese liked names, i've just heard my colleague telling his co-workers to call him Mr Saifulah Kenshin. Damn.

# Rule 4 - Don't use cheesy, cliche lovey dovey nicks as a declaration of love

Hah. This has gotta be the most common nick among the 100+ users in my list. It's where ordinary lonely peeps morphed into romeos. Ok, i have to admit that i had ever tried this but it just doesn't seem right at all. Coming to think about it after 6 years, i must had been too excited with having a gf back then.

Examples: The world, the sun, the sea, even the air means nothing more than you. or The stars will never shy as bright as your eyes..my love.

Are you joking? Go home.

# Rule 5 - Don't list down the whole list of sad, disgruntled, lonely, angry, painful ... words down.

We know you are feeling down and best left alone during such a time. Breaking apart or losing your favourite pet could be a hard time for both you and the opposite. But please bear in mind that we clearly get what you have to say. Please don't be that selfish by spoiling everyone's mood. If you don't feel like chatting, why not just take a rest rather than sitting there waiting for someone to symphatize you? * Ive been scolded by someone not to disturbed him/her when her nick clearly reads " I am so sad...down...hopeless.. please send me an angel " .

Wait, does it mean that he/she doesn't think of me as an angel? hmm..

So, i have many more rules to write but then i am feeling lazy. I will update when i feel the need to. For now, i gotta get back to some cheesy love phrases for my nick.

Seafood Paradise Restaurant review

It's been a while since i last log on and write some useless articles for you morons to read. Blame it on my heavy workload, no, blame it on my company for sending me out to destinations which requires one to swim through river, hike a full mountain and crawl across the valley just for an hour of internet access. So, this is Seafood Paradise Restaurant.

Seafood Paradise restaurant is an eating establishment NOT LOCATED within Miri. It's somewhere far. Hehe. Excuse my hesistant nature of undisclosing something. It's actually a paradise for seafood lovers but hell for the poor creatures. One could easily find their favourite fish being served in hot, sticky Lee Kum Kee sauce there. Even LALA's are being served as well. Lala's as in Ah bengs? You get me?

Seating arrangements in seafood paradise looks rather simple. Honestly, i didn't expect much from this place. But it certainly taught me a lesson to shut the hell up once the food was served.

I ordered a plate of " 3 Golden Vege " . It's termed that way supposingly of the way 3 types of veges are being mix together. It's an assortment of bringal , potato and beans? Please do correct me if i am wrong. Adam's verdict : not so golden afterall.

Everybody loves a close up.

This is a plate of pork meat dipped into sweet and sour sauce with black pepper sprinkled onto it. I have forgotten it's actual name but i think it's gotta be somewhere around pork chop in sweet & sour sauce? or maybe , sweet & sour pork chop ? or it could be black pepper marinated with sweet essence pork chop? Heck, its just pork alright!

Hmm...yummy. Don't you just love it?

Tofu's are my favourite. The sauce are poured onto the sizzling hot pan before consumption. This soft tofu's are everyone's favourite and it does reminds me of something.... something delicious. Heh.

Got Tofu?

Deep fried prawns on my recommendation.

Something i really like about this place is the freshness of it's seafood. It's so fresh that even a person who never tasted seafood before can easily come to the conclusion that it's real fresh. LOL.

The buttermilk fish meat. No comments.

All i know it tasted real soft... and oh ya, before i proceed with another few more shots of the upcoming hor fun, Seafood Paradise dishes has gotta be the place where they don't use MSG's or Salt at all. I am exaggerating again but i guess they use it less than our counterparts here.

Hor Fun looks similar to our kueh tiaw. I still insist that the one i had in KL was one of the best.

Close up.

Anyway, i had been having chest pain since i came back from work. Please send me more love gifts.
